Ziplining in Angkor Archeological park, Siem Reap

Few days ago, I went ziplining with my colleagues. It was so much fun.

This article is part of What to do in Siem Reap or Siem Reap beyond the temples which I stated in my post earlier.

The ziplining this season is such a good chance - first it is green everywhere, and second the price is 50% on discount. So why not?

Angkor Zipline or flight the gibbon located in the middle of Angkor Thom, between Takeo temple and Tanei temple.

It is about 14kms away from Siem Reap town. You can go by yourself, but requires temple pass. If you let the company arranged for your transport, then you don’t need temple pass.

Nature of the service:

  • Staff can speak English well and are very friendly.
  • Staff insures safety of clients, double check, double instructions
  • The zipline were built by a Kiwi expert and took one year to complete.
  • There is safety officer on site
  • Trail, zipline and sky wooden suspension bridges are regular checked
  • Wood used for the platform and sky wooden suspension bridge are Merawan (locally known as Korki) which is very resistant to the water - the wetter, the stronger.
  • The longest zipline is 500m, the highest platform is 37m height.

Transport to the zipline:

  • 1-4 person, by tuk tuk for 15$ return
  • More than 4 person, by minivan for 30$ return
  • Own transport, needs temple pass to get in.

Zipline cost

  • Silver: 35$, 4 ziplines, app. 1h - longest zipline: 130m
  • Gold: 49$, 10 ziplines, app. 2hrs - 2.5hrs - longest zipline: 500m
  • If you want photography service, add another 37.5$.
  • Full cost without discount is up to 100$

Restriction

  • Child friendly, taller than 1m
  • Weight: up to 150kgs.
  • Sport shoes.
  • People with heart issue or pregnant are not allowed!

Yes, we are not in the lockdown but even without Covid, this season it is a bit quiet though.

@kroza thank you dear, I am glad you enjoyed reading and found this helpful. Have you been ziplining before?

This is my second time. The first time I did part of the training about 7 years ago and it was more intense. I was so scared at that time.

This time, it is more fun and leisurely!

@Sophia_Cambodia I’m a little scared of heights but I think I’d dare to try! I’ve wanted to since I saw you can zipline with a view of the Niagara falls in Canada. I hope to get the chance to go and do it someday

@kroza I see. Maybe you can start from somewhere not too much intense first. Above the strong waterfall, I don’t know how to say! Here, I feel rather safe and the top of the trees help us to look a bit relaxed… not too deep down there :slightly_smiling_face:
