After Google Connect Live 2019, I was fortunate to be able to visit Zion and Bryce Canyon National parks in Utah. Zion is a photographers heaven, perhaps more beautiful even than the Grand Canyon because it is slightly more overseeable:
The main Zion Canyon is highly accessible because of the very frequent shuttle bus system which brings you all the way from the entrance to the Narrows, a place where you can hike into the Virgin river with wading suits. There is also one hotel inside the Canyon, the rustic Zion Lodge (book months ahead).
After exploring the Canyon, a next wonder of natural beauty is the Zion-Mt. Carmel highway, arguably the most scenic ride in the United States. After crossing the tunnel, there is a stop where you can hike to the magnificent Zion Canyon Overlook:
From the Overlook you have a fantastic view at the depth of the Canyon, towards mountains with Latter Day Saints inspired names such as the West Temple, the Altar of Sacrifice and the Sentinel.
The most famous mountain in the Zion Canyon is the Great White Throne, it cannot be missed in this posting ?
Happy to report from Zion, your Amsterdam Local Guide Hermes van Amstel
