Local Guides Anik & Ratri looks happy on they first meet

2022 has just passed, but 2022 has been the best year for me. Why not, at the end of 2022 I can visit four major cities in Indonesia. As a series of my Desember journey ,and I am grateful that everything has gone according to the plans I have made so that I can maximize the time available.

Apart from having personal needs, I also intend on my year-end trip to stay in touch and meet Local Guides friends who are in the cities that will be my destination.

So far we can only communicate online due to differences in domicile from one to another.

My journey started from Medan City, December 19, 2022 from Jogjakarta I headed for Medan,by the plane I was on transited for 2 hours at [Bandar Udara Internasional Soekarno–Hatta ](http://Bandar Udara Internasional Soekarno–Hatta )(Soekarno Hatta Airport), Tangerang.

During the transit period, my opportunity to take videos and photos in the Soekarno Hatta Airport area, Tangerang for me to upload and review on Google Maps.

After traveling 8 hours by land and air, I arrived in Medan City.

Arriving in Medan, I was greeted by Ms. Lusia, Local Guides Medan.

She invited me to have a culinary tour at a restaurant that has been operating since 1929. [Tip Top ](http:// Tip Top )is the name of the restaurant which means “Prima/perfect”.

The mainstay menu of this restaurant is beef steak and this restaurant is famous for the dessert, namely ice cream which is made using a hereditary recipe.

We had dinner at this restaurant by ordering the mainstay menu from the restaurant.

And indeed, whether it’s because of the legendary place or because I’m hungry, the beef steak here tastes delicious with the sauce, which is perfect in taste and texture, in my opinion :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Added more to my timeline on Google Maps, namely visiting the Tip Top restaurant, Medan. For that I don’t waste it the opportunity to be able to take some photos at this legendary restaurant in Medan City.

The next day I went around Medan city and visited iconic places in Medan city such as[ Istana Maimun](http:// Istana Maimun) (Maimun Palace) and [Little India Gate ( குட்டி இந்தியா நுழைவாயில்/Gerbang India Kecil) ](http://Little India Gate ( குட்டி இந்தியா நுழைவாயில்/Gerbang India Kecil) )(I will make separate articles about these two places).

Thanks Medan for your beautiful place and story

December 25, I continued my trip to Jakarta. Medan-Jakarta I traveled for 4 hours, 1 hour using land transportation and 3 hours using air transportation.

Wow…Jakarta is a big city and is the capital of Indonesia. You can imagine, I come from from the area came to visit the city of Jakarta alone, but armed with courage I continued my journey from Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang to the[ Asyana Kemayoran Jakarta ](http:// Asyana Kemayoran Jakarta )hotel where I was staying while in Jakarta by train.

There was a funny incident, I got off at the wrong train station, and only realized when opened Google Maps that my destination was still 38km from the wrong station where I got off.

To be honest I was a little panicked, but thank God after asking and telling what I experienced to the station staff, I finally arrived at the final station where I was supposed to go.

Previously I had made an appointment meet with Mbak @Ddimitra ,she has prepared a schedule of activities for 1 day to explore Jakarta.

December 27th, I was picked up at the hotel by Mbak Devi, a Jakarta Local Guides who no longer needs to be questioned how friendly and informative she is to anyone, especially to fellow Local Guides.

That day, Mbak Devi became a Local Guides and tour guide for me and my children.

Mbak Devi took me around the city of Jakarta using public transportation. She showed me a secret place to be able to take perfect photos of the National Monument (Jakarta City Icon) from the height of the terrace of the [Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia ](http:// Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia )(Indonesian National Library)building as well as a tour of the Highest Library in the world.

Our city tour continued again with taking pictures with the background of the Welcome Monument at the HI Roundabout. Joined by Mas Andre, Local Guides from Tangerang .

We continue our tour to the Old Town(Kota Tua) area, one of Jakarta’s icons that must be included on the list to visit when we are in Jakarta.

The Old Town(Kota Tua )is an area which during the Dutch colonial era was used as the center of the Hindia Belanda Government and central of economic.

Here there are architectural buildings from the war era that are interesting to visit both as historical tours and as photography spots. Several colleagues from Jakarta Local Guides and Tangerang Local Guides come and join us. Really warm welcome and very familiar. Thank you Jakarta Local Guides andTangerang Local Guide :hugs:

December 28, according to schedule, my children and I took the Commuter Line train to Bogor City. We traveled to Bogor for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. The weather in Bogor was not friendly, it was raining and that was not an obstacle to continuing my journey with fellow Bogor Local Guides.

Arriving at the Bogor station, when I left the arrivals area, I was touched because under the rain, @DeeDesty and friends from Bogor Local Guides were already standing in front of me carrying a mica board that read Bogor Local Guides. What a moment the reception was extraordinarily sweet.

Bogor Local Guides have also made schedules for city tours, one of which is a visit to the [Perpustakaan Kota Bogor ](http:// Perpustakaan Kota Bogor )(Bogor City Regional Library) which was recently inaugurated and requires a review on Google Maps. A short tour filled with beautiful memories. Thank you Bogor Local Guides for your welcome and hospitality :bouquet:

December 29, at 6.45 am Jakarta time, we took the train to Bandung. In Bandung I was finally able to meet the only Guiding Stars from Indonesia, namely @PaDeSSo ,Bandung Local Guides.

He invited me to ride Bandros (Bandung Tour On The Bus), namely vehicles which is designed in such a way for tourists visiting Bandung to be able to get around the city of Bandung crossing several existing historic streets and buildings with a guided tour, thank you Padesso for the memorable short tour

That’s the end of the year travel story I meet with Local Guides friends from several cities in Indonesia.

We had never meet before but because of the Local Guides Community, we felt connected and immediately became close like friends who have known each other for years.

At the moment of my year-end trip I also used it to add to my photo collection and of course a review for Google Maps.

It was an extraordinary and very memorable year-end trip for me.

Hopefully at the end of next year I can travel again and meet LocalGuides friends from other cities in Indonesia that I haven’t visited.

My year-end trip ends in Bandung by watching the fireworks at the New Year’s celebration from my room window [Collection O 22 Hotel Pasar Baru Heritage.](http:// Collection O 22 Hotel Pasar Baru Heritage )

Thank you for the wonderful end of the year, Local Guides. Stay happy and I hope we can meet in person again another time. Thanks also to all of you fellow Local Guides wherever you are who have read my article "Happy New Year " from me :tada: :confetti_ball:

The idea of the Bandros is really cool, I like how Tourism is being promoted in your country. I like how there is a huge focus on education and libraries too.

Honestly, I have communicated with so many Local Guides that it doesn’t feel like we have only just met anymore.

@AnikSetyawati I read your city to city travel story carefully. The description was very impressive, accurate and interesting. It was even better to meet the local guides. Let your travels spread abroad. And invite you to visit Bangladesh one day.

You can make the title of your travelogue a little bigger.

While in Bogor, I made a video call with mbak @Nyainurjanah , her husband even offering to take her to meet me,but because conditions didn’t allow it, we can only meet online at the moment. I also hope that one day I can meet Pak Budi in person. That’s right Auntie @Ewaade_3A , this is an unforgettable new year’s eve celebration for my kids.

As you know, making video calls with you when I’m with friends is very exciting, it feels like you are present offline too with us
