Is there a way to find out why points were removed?
I have worked hard to achieve the 9th level and thought that I had accomplished that. Google even sent me an email congratulating me.
Four days later as I was going to continue making contributions I discovered that I have been reduced back down to level 8.
This is frustrating and takes most of the fun out of participating. I would appreciate any feedback as to the possible reasons and why I should continue making contributions.

I see you are having same challenge as @RichieMucGermany
below is my response to him which may apply also to you.
"Firstly as you climb up the ladder of google map, the system understands that you are now mature and expects quality contributions from you.
I have checked your map profile and some reviews seem to give no true experience, Those are very likely the reason you are having a reduction in points because the system would have hidden your reviews from public view. This could be a warning sign too.

Thank you for reaching out but I can’t agree with your assessment that my circumstance is the same as the person you mentioned or that my reviews lack true experience. In fact, the only reviews I give are from personal experience and I try to show that in what I write.
And isn’t it Google that will ask me to write a review just by “VISITING” a web site? Talk about not having a true experience for a mature review.
This is either AI going amuck or Google simply not playing fair and there should be some kind of follow-up that we can take since they are benefitting from our volunteer efforts.
