Your Station is powered by the Sun #GoGreen

The idea of ‘going green’ has been a lofty idea for years! Many enterprises, even residential apartments are gradually working towards ways to ensure that Carbon dioxide emission generated is reduced to the barest minimum.

Here, in Nigeria, the idea is still alien to many people. So, when I came across this signage at a gas station

Total Energies; yesterday, I was awestruck just because Nigerians no dey too gbadun all these oyinbo stuff.

Please, noone should ask me why there are no details being displayed… :unamused:

  • Instantaneous Power (W) ________________
  • Total Energies PV Production (kWh) _______________
  • CO Emission avoided (f) _____________________

because even I don’t know :persevere: If you know, please share with me. Have you visited a place like this? Please share the location with me and a photo if it is convenient. Thank you.

@Ewaade_3A @Oh yes! Total Nigeria has developed many of their petrol stations into solar powered stations. The whole roof is lined with solar panels and there’s usually a green house

Apart from the oil which seems to be their major line of business, they are massively involved in renewable energy and green gas.

@TravellerG I would love to visit that airport. Sounds great!

I rely on solar power in my home during the day and I also have a solar powered fan, solar phone charger on a Bluetooth speaker and bulbs just like @ogewuru

Wow! I haven’t heard of or seen their green houses @MAdriel

Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if they have a recycling plant too…

Hello, fellow LG @MAdriel ,

Thanks for your kind response…

“… I would love to visit that airport…”

You are most welcome… We are here to assist you.

“… I rely on solar power in my home during the day…”

That is quite interesting - very happy to hear that…

In India, though SOLAR POWER has not become very popular, our governments are trying to bring this revolution - may be, in the coming years, this will come true.

I wish you good luck with the power solutions in your country…

Here in Nigeria, it is very most often personal projects, if you want solar energy, you buy the panels, inverter, batteries, cabling and you get a professional to complete the job.

However, there are mini grid projects by the government, foreign partners and sometimes NGOs in rural areas to power the communities at subsidized rates.

Wishing you a great week!

Hello LG friend @MAdriel

Thanks for your detailed response.

In India too, both private and subsidised schemes are available; of course, as the technology is improving, solar is becoming cost effective and popular.

Thank you also for your valuable companionship.

PS:

Due to some hectic travel schedule, I couldn’t reply earlier - kindly excuse me.

@TravellerG not a problem.

Good to hear from you. Yes, you’re right Solar is getting really popular and is truly cost effective.

Dear @TravellerG @Have a great day!

It’s nice to see green energy becoming more popular. I haven’t been to a place like that yet, but it’s good to see companies focusing on reducing emissions. If you want to learn more about how these systems work, it’s a good idea to research solar power and its benefits. You can also ask professionals like solar panels cork for advice. They can explain how solar panels produce energy and how much you can save on costs.
