So basically through Google Maps, I love to share all my good and bad experiences for any public/private/commercial outlet so that the word can reaches to the masses. And why I do that, so here is the story:
Well, this is my own story. I have planned a visit to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and then Bali (Indonesia) a few years back. The plan was to be in Malaysia for few a days and then heading for Bali for remaining 5-6 days. My family and I are pure vegetarians and it gets really difficult for us to find some descent veg restaurants when we are outside our home country. So when we started from India to Malaysia, we had packed some basic snacks with us like Biscuits, Namkeen, Wafers, etc.
So for first few days, all went fine as we were consuming our snacks and it was very difficult for us to find some descent veg restaurant due to our hectic itinerary. But after few days we were really getting anxious as it was not sufficient for us sustain for all day long outdoor activities in Malaysia and we started getting bored with our snacks. The only small relief was to having some descent breakfast in our hotel.
After lending in Bali, it becomes even more difficult for us to continue like this without having any proper meal. We started desperately searching for some descent veg restaurant which could quench our hunger. But Bali being the sea country, all we could find was sea food.
When one day we were walking on the beach in Bali, I was interacting with a person there who happened to be a local google map guide as well and knew the place very well. He understood our situation and directed us to a near by Indian Restaurant. We immediately search that restaurant on google maps and read all the reviews available there. We realized this the place we were dying for. We immediately reached the restaurant by using google maps and had a full course meal there… We were really happy to be there and thankful to that local guide who told us about it. After this, we make sure that we had at least have one meal there for rest of our days in Bali. This made me realize that what is the value of a Google Map guide and how much we can contribute through this to fellow people like us.
After this incident, I try to review all the places I visit so that people will know where to go or not to go, what to do, what to expect, etc. And this is why I help people using google maps.
Thanks for reading.
