I noticed I take a Local Guide’s review of a business much more seriously when I traveled. I did a solo trip to Portugal and the only way I knew a restaurant was good or not was to open Google Maps and check out the reviews. Although there were great reviews written by tourists (like myself), I wanted to know what the Local Guides had to say. I chose where to eat and buy depending on the locals and I have to say I loved my Portugal experience.
@JWLee that happens to me as well! If I’m traveling I want to spend my time and money on places that are worth it because it may be one in a life experience. Contrary when I’m in my country I know I can try more restaurants or visit more places so that when other people visit they have where to choose from, using the reviews Local Guides like me or you have written.
Hi @JWLee ,
You may be new on Connect or writing to share a post for your Connect Live application. If you’re applying to Connect Live be sure to share a link to a new Connect post responding to this year’s application prompts. You can find everything you need to know about writing a post for Connect Live 2020 by taking a look at the guidelines. You can also check How to write a great application post for Connect Live 2020 and Your guide to creating lists on Google Maps.
P.S.: Keep in mind that one of the requirements is to share your post on the Local Stories board. I’ve moved your post there.
