Hey guys

I have added a new cafe [KHAN DESI NASHTA] opened next to me in place of another cafe [CAFETERIA MARIA] that is now permanently closed on maps too.

Why some this lace creation in not applied? I already made video of the cafe while setting inside, added store front, link to their Facebook page, phone number. What else do you need to verify the damn place :slight_smile: [https://en-gb.facebook.com/pg/KhansDesiNashta/about/]

I am only helping to add my local area on the maps but no one bothers to go through all the info I add and rejected my contribution twice for the same place I am sure it would effect my points and kudos %.

I know it can be disappointing. But every local guide has some edits which are pending or not applied. Some edits are accepted promptly by Google algorithm and some are placed under pending. Which will be verified using fact check options or other facts by the Maps. Read this post from a Google Moderator Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”?

Few tips from me:

Always keep your GPS on and make sure it is accurate when you are adding a place to maps. When I am adding a location on the map I have found that when I am present in the location and GPS is accurate maps tend to approve it in most cases. Also always try to add at least one photo of the place when adding or editing, this will increase the chance of approval.

I actually always do it like. My GPS was on. I took photo there and then with location save information to the photos so I don’t know why the system did not verify it straightaway. I believe it may be because of previous closed business.

So let me get it right. NOT APPLIED mean “Rejected” or waiting for fact checks?

@ZamaMobile Anything could be possible and know that AI or algorithm is not always 100% accurate.

Not Applied means rejected.

so who is here to recheck now. I have already tried to ad it twice but NOT APPLIED.

that’s no good if they don’t bother anymore or at-least let the contributor a chance to respond to NOT APPLIED edits. There are no perks for the local guides anymore apart from star ratings like used to be when I was very active on mapmaker using my other account. I added a entire city road by road and added numerous POI and my name used to show as contributor on the bottom on the maps.

Very ungrateful gesture from Google to their mapmaker contributors that helped them mapped all there maps in developing countries.

sorry for the non topic rant but that how I feel whenever I get a NOT APPLIED :slight_smile:
