Shevaroy Temple
Yercaud, Yercaud, Tamil Nadu 636602, India
May 12, 2019 @ 16:30 (IST)
Let us walk through the Oak trees of Servaroyan Hills and visit the peak to have spontaneous views, visit the Servaroyan Temple and enjoy the sunset on 12/05/2019. While walking over to Servaroyan Temple, you could see large Oak Trees in which some have big holes - even big enough to hide a man. On the way to Servaroyan Temple, famous Bear Caves are available near Norton’s Bungalow. The Bear Caves are 7 feet below ground level and the central area is carved out of a single rock. Old Tamil Literature says that, the Bear Caves are abode of Lord Murugan. The Bear caves were used as a hideout by Tipu Sultan during his war against the British. The Servaroyan Temple is situated at 5326 feet, in the top of the Servaroyan Hills. It is a narrow cave temple having the God Servaroyan and Goddess Kaveri. The view of Sunset from Servaroyan Temple is inexplicable. This meetup is totally free of cost for all the attendees. On behalf of the Chennai Local Guides Group, I welcome you all!
