My husband and I took a late summer trip to Yellowstone, a first visit for the both of us and had a great time! Such a beautiful place only about a half day’s drive from our home in Boise. It was nice getting out after our grander trip plans out of the country were canceled due to COVID. Visiting during the week and toward the end of the season meant fewer crowds. I don’t feel as though our trip was very altered due to the pandemic besides having to keep masks handy. It didn’t seem to put a damper on anyone else’s good time either. With proper planning, and a commitment to getting an early start, you can easily see virtually everything in the park in two to three days. We spend a day driving the south loop of the park and took a tour bus another day to do a northern loop tour. This is a great way to take a break from driving and see all the sights while being able to completely focus on the scenery and taking pictures. The number of people on tours is also lessened due to the pandemic which we found to be one positive change it has caused in tourist activities. This has also become the year where we have had to get more creative with leisure travel and encouraged many to look to take the time to appreciate the wonders that lie close to home.

WOW! I’m putting this on my “need to visit” list. Currently its filled with about 50 things that I probably will never go to but I’m still going to try!
