Yelagiri Hills is located about 250km from Chennai by road.
Yelagiri is called poor man’s Ooty. Very pleasant weather but nothing much to see as tourist importance. Cottages , resorts, hotels are available at affordable rates during off season. There is a small lake where you can enjoy boating, a small park to walk around as well. There are private joints offering trekking, walking trails, para gliding and some sports activities for a price. You can spend comfortably a cool weekend and Yelagiri is most sought after weekend getaway by many corporates. Food is not an issue.
Stayed at O Nila Resort. Very comfortable serene atmosphere, affordable rates, courteous staff, more importantly the food was very nice and tasty. Lots of inhouse facilites, sports corner, health spas, massages, excellent restaurant, swimming pool ec. all cmes for an extra cost which is not very expensive.
Certainly a Worthy short trip to enjoy
