#YEG Supporting Local Businesses

Hi Edmonton!

I’m pretty sure everyone is aware (haha) but Sunday April 28th was Independent Bookstore Day! Its one of the many days that suggest we support local businesses. Here in Edmonton, we have Daisy Chain Book Co, our very own mobile bookstore! Yes, mobile! This is a bookstore on wheels, run by Brandi, also known as Daisy. Brandi lives in my community and is the nicest person you will meet. I think it would be great if we always supported people like Brandi, and other local businesses, and helped them succeed. Those local businesses support the community, they create jobs and share their success with their neighbours, like me. Brandi supports our local community hall in Chappelle Gardens, with her business. Same as Caffiend, our local coffee shop. Caffiend is a proud sponsor of other local businesses, as well as the community. I was there last Sunday and had a coffee and a treat with my son. We could have gone to Tim Hortons, across the street, but I want to show him that there are other options besides big chains. And that a part of what makes neighbourhoods great is our neighbours.

Please support your local businesses, and if you see Daisy around, be sure to stop and pick up a book. Grab an americano from Caffiend while you’re in the neighbourhood
