In Japan, things change quickly after Christmas.
Christmas trees are put away and New Year’s decorations are displayed to welcome the New Year.

Izutsuya, a department store in Kitakyushu City, intentionally left it this way.
The one on the right is called “shimekazari”.
The entrance door it is placed the shimekazari, a small rope made from rice straws, with carefully crafted zigzag-shaped paper strips called shide.
I introduced this scene because it is unique to Japan, where Japanese and Western cultures are mixed together, and this scene changes over the New Year.

北九州市の地場の百貨店、井筒屋では31日までクリスマスツリーが残っています。
日本でも珍しい光景かなと思い紹介しました。
