Yam porridge or would i say Nigerian Yam porridge is a type of thick soup or stew meal made with yam and leafy green (fluted pumpkin ). This dish is enjoyed throughout West Africa. It is known as Sese yam in Cameroon.
Items
- Tuber of Yam
- Green Leaf (fluted pumpkin)
- Palm oil
- Dried or Smoked fish
- Seasonings
- Onion and Pepper
- Crayfish (Grinded)
Procedure (My recipe)
Peel the yam, cut into small chunks, wash and put in a colander. Rinse the pot, add palm oil and allow to fry for a minute. Add sliced onion, grinded pepper and small seasoning . Also add crayfish. Allow it to fry for a minute thirty seconds. After add water. Allow it to boil for 3 minutes. After add dried fish and later add the yam chunks. Cook for about 15minutes.
Serve immediately or warm, Enjoy your delicious food.
