The beauty and mystery of the ocean never stop amazing me, the creatures, the deepness, the blue, and everything! Yet, there was no aquarium in the city I live in, or more correctly, was no until last year. In August 2020, Xpark was opened in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. It’s not only the first aquarium in Taipei-Taoyuan metropolitan area but also the largest in north Taiwan.
In Xpark, there are several popular exhibition areas, “Formosa”, “Healing Jellyfish”, “Penguin cafe”, etc. Among them all, my personal favorite is the one called “Formosa”, which features a four-story-high glass window where visitors can look closely at thousands of fishes and get a glimpse of the mysterious underwater world!
How to get there?
Right near THSR (Taiwan High Speed Rail) Taoyuan Station and within a 20 minutes drive from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Taipei City, the location of Xpark is convenient for visitors to feel the vitality of the ocean without having to travel too far.
How to buy the ticket?
Xpark tickets cost NT$550 for an adult, NT$400 for a student, and NT$250 for a kid under 12 or an elderly above 65. It’s recommended to preorder tickets on the official website to guarantee the entrance, as there could be no tickets or only a limited number of tickets available at the ticket counter.
Hi @ChanneLing Thank you for the post. I love visiting the aquarium, it makes me feel happy as a child, but I think visiting life underwater encourages people to develop some kind of respect towards the species of animals that live there …
My first thinking when hear about mysterious as indonesian , hmm something scary ,ancient history, ghost story , or something like that hahaha ,pardon me
But yeah it’s something amazing ,fun and beautiful , wow wow wow …
Personally I think I never vacation to aquarium park , but I know small aquarium at home very often .but let if I have aquarium at my home maybe when I feeling hungry ,good idea for taking fish from aquarium and fry at kitchen ,and yummy
I’m glad that you enjoyed the post! And thanks for the comment and for sharing the park you visited with us! It may not be huge but it gets what matters the most, the variety. And wow, the price is so reasonable!
Thank you for the comment. I have the same feeling as you. Being amazed by how magical nature is and having a sense of respect towards the earth and creatures.
Thank you, glad you like the photos! And yes, the tank is probably the most appreciated spot in this aquarium. I stood there more than a quarter of an hour to appreciate it.
Hahahaha yes, exact!! The ocean could be beautiful and scary and the same time. Though it covers 71% of the earth’s surface, more than 80% of it still remains unexplored and to be learned.
Ohhhh right, I remember that! Some seafood restaurants would have live fishes, crabs, or shrimps swimming in the tank for sale. I ain’t a good cook so I never bought them home but yes, that’s the thing.
Yes, they do have entrance control. While buying tickets, we’re asked to choose the visiting time slot as they limit visitor numbers, if the slot we wanted to be had sold out, we’d have to choose another one. This way, the crowd could be divided into smaller flows.
