**x points from Level y**
Perhaps intended as a motivating way of displayong points, I personally would think that most would want to have their actual number of points displayed.
What do you think?

Leider kann ich mit den Darstellungen nichts anfangen, Schrift auf Bilder lässt sich nicht übersetzen. @AdamGT
So sehr ich mich bemĂĽhe es zu entziffern entgeht mir der Sinn.![]()
I do understand the issue @Annaelisa however the only text relevant to this way of displaying the over all points achievement are the lines “15 points away from Level 2” in the first 2 images and “131 points away from Level 9” in the last image do no total points achieved values are shown in any of the 3 cases. So imagine in this example for this Level 4 Local Guide.
Instead of showing this as 395/500 points it is shown as 105 points away from Level 5.
Die jenigen sollen dazu bewegt werden Beiträge zu leisten, so verstehe ich es zumindest. @AdamGT
Yes I understand that and mentioned it in the opening post but it is not done universally for all Local Guides and can’t be done for Level 10s and for those it is done this way, they have to work out well how many points do they actually have!
Hallo @Annaelisa,
Hi AdamGT, thanks for bringing this up!
Interestingly, here in Italy, I still see the actual number of points I have earned on my profile. I am not sure if this update just hasn’t been rolled out here yet, or if the display behavior changes depending on the country.
Personally, I definitely prefer seeing the points I have already earned rather than only seeing the points missing for the next tier.
If the goal is to motivate us to reach the next level, I think the best solution would be to offer a combined view. For example, it could simply say: “XX points out of 100,000 (YY points away from the next level)”. This way, we can appreciate our current progress while still feeling encouraged to keep going.
Warm greetings to everyone from Rome, Italy
@AT_Rome
Well that’s great lateral thinking @AT_Rome…motivate and show the actual points at the same time. I do hope the Googlers are watching this space ![]()
Yes @Annaelisa and the format that @AT_Rome has suggested seems to be an ideal solution.
Another unnecessary UI change. Well it seems Google were listening a few weeks ago with the last fiasco, so let’s hope they’re still in a good mood now.
@AdamGT I honestly still have my doubts about what to think, and I’ll explain why!
For me and many others here, it’s great to know our score and the actual numbering of how many points are needed to reach a certain level (i.e., a new level). However, I also believe there’s another aspect to making this a little less noticeable, which is interesting because it avoids anxiety.
The fact is that we are all still trying to understand the path we are taking and everything that is being changed, but it’s still difficult to adjust.
Interesting perspective @GasparKaren. I myself like the suggestion made by @AT_Rome. Some of these UI changes are troubling. Take a look at this example:
@AdamGT Wow, not even a single change to the scoring system in the badges? I confess that this is causing me anxiety, haha.
I believe the layout changes and some configurations were quite significant, but messing with the scoring system has really left us a little confused (mainly because many base their evaluations on metrics). Perhaps for those who are starting out it’s not a big deal, since they didn’t know the previous system, but for those of us who have been here for a while, it has made a difference and caused some strangeness.
Oh yes @GasparKaren
