Worshipping Food: Japanese Rice and Beef

In the beginning, there was cereal grain and meat, and the gods said, " This is good…" Are you worshipping your food? I do. I love the marriage of hot Japanese rice and beef, and in this post I will introduce my favorite yakiniku shop as another addition to #deepjapan @YasumiKikuchi

Yamagata’s signature rice grain is called " hainuki", but was replaced a few years ago by another rice grain called “Tsuyahime.” Both are short grain sticky rice, but for some reason I prefer the previous brand.

[ You want to visit Japan, right? Then you must understand that food worship is important.]

So, look at the steamy hot rice in the picture, let it hypnotize you. Then, there is Yonezawa beef, one of the top 5 in Japan. Actually, I prefer this beef over the ubiquitous Kobe Beef for its texture and juiciness. I like to take my chopsticks then pick up a slab of hot beef and fold rice into it and eat it straight without any soy sauce first. Some of you may not prefer that way, but to each his/her own. Follow that up with beer or sake.

Delicious domestically grown Japanese garlic cooked in butter in foil and sublime and compliments any yakiniku dish. I love the soft textures and creamy goodness I get at every bite.

Eating Yakiniku is one of the most important and almost religious experiences in Japan for me, and I hope it is for you.

Hello @user_not_found ,

Thank you for introducing Japanese yakiniku culture🍖. Japanese rice has a taste adjusted to suit many ingredients. Many people think that the combination of grilled meat and rice is a combination by God!

The origin of Wagyu beef is Ishigaki Island in Okinawa. Ishigaki calves are sent to various parts of the country, and different breeding methods are implemented in each region, and regional brand names are assigned. And There are 900 kinds of Japanese rice varieties:open_mouth::rice:!

The beef and rice work for me all the time, and I think a lot of tourist will love the simplicity of this dish. I hope that when and if you come to Japan, you travel around to some of the big meat producing prefectures and sample them. It will be well worth your money and time.

Good evening. @Giuseppe75

Thank you for praising the photo of the grilled meat.

As you say, it is very meaningful to eat yakiniku while enjoying a conversation slowly.

BBQ meat is less delicious when it is baked too, so i am talking while watching the timing of baking. :cut_of_meat::eyes:Kagoshima A4 beef has a great gravy, surprisingly soft and rich in gravy.

I’m hungry again. Thank you very much. Regard
