Hi @AdamGT . Thank you for sharing the list. Honestly, I haven’t been to any of those but would love to see some reactions and photos here from first sight. I’d be happy to come across some vegan recommendations also.

The desserts look amazing. Which one did you like the most? Did you choose some restaurants from the list for your next trips? I know I’d try Maido (Lima, Peru) and Noma (Copenhagen, Denmark) gladly.

@AdamGT I am peruvian and we had 2 restaurants in the TOP 10, Central (#6) and Maido (#10). Cuisine is a serious thing in Perú for sure.

Virgilio Martinez (Central´s cheff) was named the best chef in the world in 2017.

Hello @IrrPavlova

I too haven’t been to any of the top 50 restaurants and like you would love to see some reactions and photos here from first sight. My photo, which I added to compliment my post, is from a hospitality and training restaurant totally run by hospitality students (the students cook and serve all the food). I have to say that not only does the food look good but it’s always beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. My fave on this visit was the Elianza Ivoire chocolate mousse with cherry confit. I would go to any one of the top 50 restaurants, however, I think a country like Peru (Lima) has done extremely well to beat many top European and South American restaurants such as those top 50 in Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland, and Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Columbia, respectively.

Hi @marcorp

Yes for Peru, and in particular Lima, to have the Best Restaurant in South America and 2 in the top 10 let alone in the top 50 restaurants and only just behind both France and Spain each with 3 in the top 10, is a remarkable achievement!!! So I say well done Peru!

ps: and @TorM I’m sorry to hear that your grandmother’s restaurant is closed :frowning:

@AdamGT of course, it´s something to be proud of but again, it´s about benchmarking… Virgilio Martinez became a big deal after spending several years in Europe learning from the best.

Yes @marcorp the best way to learn is to work with the best and many do it this way. I read that Central is run by Martinez and is wife.

Thanks for sharing these @AdamGT ! I didn’t realize how many european restaurants where in the Top 50. I’m happy to see other countries getting a better representation of their food culture (like Thailand, Peru, Slovenia or Colombia). What’s also surprising to me is that Argentina, India, Vietnam or Ethiopia (these are just a few examples) don’t have a spot.

I totally agree with you @_louste and it’s greatto see other countries getting a better representation of their food culture. As I wrote above in my reply to @marcorp , Peru/Lima for example did extremely wellto have the Best Restaurant in South America and 2 in the top 10 restaurants worldwide!
