A few months ago I have traveled a lot. I have covered almost all the popular Chattagram hilly areas. The Chattagram Hill Tracts (CHT), the only extensive hilly area in Bangladesh, lies in the southeastern part of the country bordering Myanmar on the southeast, the Indian state of Tripura on the north, Mizoram on the east, and Chattagram district on the west. The area of the Chattagram Hill Tracts is about 13, 184 km2, which is approximately one-tenth of the total area of Bangladesh. The Chattagram Hill Tracts, combining three hilly districts of Bangladesh: Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban districts. The mountainous rugged terrain with deep forests, lakes, and falls gives it a divergent character from the rest of Bangladesh.
Here I will show some of the photographs according to the districts below.
Rangamati is the administrative headquarters of Rangamati Hill District in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. It is also the capital city of Chittagong Hill Tracts. The following photos are from my Rangamati trip.
Konglak Hills is located in Sajek Union, Baghaichhari Upazila, Rangamati District, Bangladesh. It is the highest peak in the Sajak Valley. It is about 1800 feet above sea level.
Kaptai Lake is the largest lake in Bangladesh. It is located in the Kaptai Upazila under Rangamati District of Chittagong Division. The lake was created as a result of building the Kaptai Dam on the Karnaphuli River, as part of the Karnaphuli Hydro-electric project.
Khagrachari is a district in Chattogram Division, Southeastern Bangladesh. It included under the Chattogram Hill Tracts region. I am going to show some areas near Risang waterfall.
Bandarban is a district in South-Eastern Bangladesh and a part of the Chattogram Division. It is one of the three hill districts of Bangladesh and a part of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the others being Rangamati District and Khagrachari District. I am showing some of the natural beauties from the Bandarban district below.
Bogakain Lake, also called Baga Lake or Boga Lake, is a lake located in Ruma Upazila in the hill district Bandarban, Bangladesh. It is a naturally sweet and deep water lake. Its height from sea level is nearly 1,246 feet (380 m).
The Buddha Dhatu Jadi also known as the Bandarban Golden Temple is located close to Balaghata town, in Bandarban City, in Bangladesh. Dhatu are the material remains of a holy person, and in this temple, the relics belong to Buddha. It is the largest Theravada Buddhist temple in Bangladesh and has the second-largest Buddha statue in the country.
Here, I will show some pictures from the deep forest of the Thanchi Upazila in Bandarban city.
Hopefully, I will be back with another post of my views through the lens. Thank you.
N.B: Don’t be messed with Chittagong and Chattogram. Both are the same. Chittagong was the former name of Chattogram.
