Continuing our Women & Allied Series, today we’re excited to introduce Gouri, a passionate Level 7 Local Guide from India.
Gouri is a student from Kerela who like contributing to Google Maps, sharing her experiences, and supporting her community in meaningful ways. Let’s get to know her! Here is a candid Rendezvous with @Gouri.PS !
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your journey as a Local Guide?
[Gouri]: I started contributing on Google maps 6 month’s before and started Posting on connect very recently.It was a youtube shorts that made me to start contributing.A man who shared his reviews on google map recieved a badge from Google map and that made me to start contributing.That urge to receive gifts from Google maps made me to contribute again and again and now I can proudly say that I am level 7 women local guide from kerala.With this very short period of time I’ve reached level 7, its a very big achievement for me and this achievement along with appreciation email with points make us more confident and bold to contribute the next time.Each time when the number of views goes up I feel special.
What inspires you to be a Local Guide?
[Gouri]: The points that maps gives encourages us to contribute more and more.
What’s your favorite feature of Google Maps?
[Gouri]: I like ‘Photos’ feature on Maps.
What message would you give to other Women Local Guides or anyone considering joining our Local Guides program ?
[Gouri]: Arrange more women oriented programs to encourage more women local guides.
