I believe in the adage that a picture is a worth thousand words. A photo taken with a creative eye will attract people and serve its purpose. Whenever I search for places on Google Maps, I give preference to photos than reviews to finalize a hotel to stay or a restaurant to eat food.
Initially, when I was a user of Google Maps, I used to thank photographers for posting excellent photos that describe a place or a dish. At that pint of time becoming Google Maps contributor was my wish. When I came to know about Local Guides program, I was ecstatic to be part of the program. I have become very active Local Guide as posting photos to Google Maps.
I prefer to post photos of historic places, hotels, restaurants and food items. I feel very proud when my photos get lakhs of views. For example, there is a restaurant called Vivera 75 kilometers away from my home on the highway. It is very popular for tasty food and good ambience with huge parking place. I have posted inside ambience photo from the restaurant nine months ago. Today it has around six lakh views.
A small but popular restaurant called Delicious Dosa is there near my home. I took photo of Idli from the restaurant and posted on Google Maps 17 months ago. Now it has more than 2 lakh views. I feel very happy when I see the views that my photos are getting on Google Maps. I believe scores of people like me rely on my photos to choose their destinations, to decide their delicacies to eat. This is the reason why I love to share more and more photos on Google Maps.
