Shri Nageshwar Temple,Chorawane
Location: Shri Nageshwar Temple
Beneath the peak lies a cave known as Nageshwar. The old basaltic construction of the Lord Nageshwar cave still stands. Rising to a height of 4000 feet, it becomes Maharashtra’s Vaishno Devi. Reaching the peak takes two to three hours. You can witness the captivating beauty of Konkan during the trek. Since Nageshwar has a natural water source for the most of the year, the Vasota Fort Trek considers it important.
Extremely challenging trail; you must first travel to Choravne Village. From there, you must travel to Vasota Fort, where the nageshwari Temple is located. There are very narrow stone steps there now, and local and government authorities have taken precautions. However, a few years ago, a single chain rope was present, making this a treacherous trail on cloudy and rainy days.
It is true that the Shiv or Swayambhu temples are located on a challenging and steep peak.
If, throughout your travels in the Konkan region, you do not try Bhakri Chatni, you are truly missing out.
You must take measures against insects, ants, mosquitoes, and other reptiles when walking on this moderately challenging trail, but you may also enjoy being really near to nature by watching birds of many sorts at Sahyadri
