Winter wonderland - share your winter snaps!

Hey frosty snow folks!! As I’ve been away in Malaysia (where it’s hot and humid) for over a year and now back in Manchester and experiencing the freezing cold winters again… I’m like a kid in a candy store!! I get excited every time there’s a chance for snow or if the skies are clear blue and the sharpness of the cold just knocks the breath out of me! It’s FABULOUS!! :snowman_with_snow:

Plus, I like Christmas and it’s always fun to have Christmas songs blasting in the background and festive lights are on everywhere!

Anyway, I wanted to share some winter snaps that I managed to take whilst up in Scotland and I was curious to know what amazing snaps have you taken!! Yes, this does unfortunately exclude folks who don’t have a cold/snowy weather but don’t worry, I have a challenge set up for you too! More to come soon… :sunglasses:

All these photos (except the ice crystal ones) were taken whilst sat in the car (I wasn’t driving!) on the way down to England. Drive-by photography! I had to wind the side window down, quickly take my photos and then wind the window back up! It was cold doing this a few times! Unfortunately, during the cold snap and snow that we had here in the UK, I hadn’t gone anywhere more scenic so there are no majestic shots of castles and such! :pensive:

Anyway, I’m pretty sure that there are many of you in the community here that have taken some lovely winter photos! @jayasimha78 , @TorM , @LuigiZ , @Shirley (tagging a few European and North American LGs). If you have, do share them in the comments below! Thanks!!

Thanks for this post, @AdrianLunsong

Winter is coming here too.

Last Friday I was in the Alps, in the small village of Tambre, where I took a photo of the hills covered of snow.

But of course, the cold season is counterbalanced by the warm atmosphere of the restaurants in the area. We went for lunch at Al Fogher (the Fireplace, in Venetian dialect) where fire in the center of room was warming us.

Hello @AdrianLunsong ,

how you know. Maybe I have some….

All only 15 minutes from my home. So, :snowflake: is nice in Bavaria/ Germany outside the city.

@ErmesT Wow!! Wonderful photos indeed… and that fireplace!! It’s nice that you can sit all around the fire!! Great design!! Oh, are the snows deep enough to ski? I’m guessing they are since you said it’s in the Alps!

Yeah… @MortenCopenhagen the temperature has jumped back up again and everything is thawing away too! Rather unlucky that you didn’t get snow snaps this time!

@Ale_003 That’s great!! You know… I’ve only ever made a snowman once in my whole life! And it was only like 8 inches tall or something. There wasn’t enough snow to make anything bigger! I love the snow but I seem to always miss them!!

It looks beautiful and fun, but I know it is not fun to be in that situation @AdrianLunsong hope you enjoy it :slightly_smiling_face: I remember we drove along the white trees in Snoqualmie (Washington), it looked like a paradise, but also freezing!

Hey @AdrianLunsong ,

thank you for tagging me too in your Winter Wonderland :joy: …you made me smile reading your post. I think you have quite a shock passing between Manchester - Malaysia - Manchester again  , but I would be so happy just exactly like you! I don’t know why but snow makes always happy (almost) everyone.

Well although we do experience cold temperature (around 0 and few degrees below) but at my latitude it is not very easy to see snow, unless you go high on the mountains since the cities are too low and current global warming doesn’t bring anymore snow down here.

Here this is a photo took on one of the coldest day just outside my office, you can see we have freezing but not snow:

Otherwise most of the winter time here it is wet, it rains so much! Please see below a photo took couple of weeks ago in a regular winter, raining morning.

@LuigiZ your weather is like here in Manchester… rain rain rain… and a bit of frost from time to time! We also have to go out to the countryside/higher up to be able to see some snow (if the weather is just suitable).

It was higher than my height @AdrianLunsong it was at Snoqualmie pass, a skiing area quite famous in Seattle/Washington state.

It was beautiful :slightly_smiling_face:
