Winter Mood of Turkey

Winter Mood of Turkey is definitely much greater in comparing to the northern europe but not so warm as the summer’s one. The weather is much softer but heavy rains may spoil half a day or so. I traveled along the south coast 3 most popular tourist places in February 2020. So you may follow my steps and discover if the location will be friendly for you in such season.

I spent 5 days in Belek according to my business trip contract and the opportunity for little journey pushed me to extend the staying for the tour. I started from Antalya as that was the place where the car rent office located in the airport. Please pay attention to the car rental contract specifics. Turkey contracts can’t be prolonged in some of the companies with usual phone call. After all the papers were done i checked in to my apartment and left the luggage. As the privilege of a car gives the freedom opportunity i choosed the apart room little far from the sea but with modern and fresh look.

PART 1. ANTALYA

The sun was high already and i rushed to start the tour. My first steps i made to the public beach. I may ensure you that location relaxed me from the business thoughts in just 5 minutes.

I discovered beach pebbles on the shore mainly, but some parts may differ . That day temperature raised up to 22C +/- and i noticed some people entered the sea. That wasn’t friendly condition for my swimming and i decided to walk along the shore.

All surrounding area looks clean and served. You may find lot of chargeless parking areas nearby as well.

Park Area Walkways and bike routes.

After hour i moved to Old Town Area. Its just about 10 min by car or 20-25min by public transport. Small size bay with boats marine looks antique .

Old town houses surround this area. High stone walls still look strong enough for holding up the sea invasion.

Boats marine. This place is also considered to be the port of tourist ships that cruse around Antalya. Trips for 40-120min are available.

Stepping up to the walls leads to the Old Town. You may definitely spend about 1-2 hours just walking in relaxed style among these streets. I felt really unique atmosphere in there.

Little notice* I would not recommend to book hotel in that area if you travel with heavy luggage as the car may not reach until the hotel door .

After Old town i found touristic street with huge amount of shops and foods. The obvious choice for meal was Kebab))

Duden park and Water fall was my next stop. It took me about 15min by car. I met some traffic jam.

Duden park is the nice place for sunset and relaxed end of the saturated day. I had many pictures fom that place and i would like to see it one more time in future. Late evening i visited Kaleiçi Meyhanesi Konyaaltı , its suggested to be the best fish restaurant in Antalya. ( as the manager stated). Grilled Fish+Salad +2 drinks all about 200 Tl.

PART #2. KEMER

Next morning i moved to Kemer. The distance is very short 50km and about 30min by car

Kemer looks very quiet this period. Most of hotels are closed for renovation. Shops and services work half day or so.

To be continued tomorrow…
