I am currently a LG in my hometown Bogotá, Colombia. Here is really common to find new small business near to the popular neighborhoods so my main task is help them to appear in Google maps easily and inform to the community what is new around the area. Furthermore, I like to visit the places without recommendations to try new experiences and be the first review in order to help other person who is interested in the same kind of places and help them to do the best choice depending on their specific interest.
Some time ago I realize how any person can make the difference through Local Guides because it is an easy way to share important information about our environment and that include the new small business which in my view are the more important. The small business owners are really grateful and sometimes they get involved to the community helping with relevant information like schedule and phone numbers and even they let me know when they are moving or closing up so that’s really useful to keep the platform updated all time with accurate information. My favorite kind of new business are the ones related with handcrafts because I feel that is something very representative of my country and there are places where you can find great gifts and accessories which represent our culture.
Finally, I want to say that I enjoy sharing useful information because this leads me to discover new places even in my own street in addition when I am on a trip, I use Google maps all time. And I have to say, it will not be the same without all the Local Guides’ help who enrich the platform.
