Why the power goes out and why you should not be scared

In Nigeria power can go off at anytime. Except for those who live estates where they pay for constant power. Which is a lot and most people can’t afford it. The new method of giving power in Asaba is three hours on and six hours off. And when it rains, power can be out for a day or two. Why? I don’t know. So if you plan to visit and stay with a local, when the power goes off, don’t be alarmed. It’s normal. It’s also normal when locals say ‘Up Nepa!’ It means power has returned and that is one of the greatest sources of joy around
