Why the Local Guides Program is My Mission

What does the Local Guides Program mean to me?

Well, it means a lot. It is such an awaited outlet for me to explore, not only my physical surroundings, but also exploring who I am as a person. Being a guide is an art form. I look at things through the eyes of an artist, seeing and experiencing things in a creative way. What some may see as as just a park, I see an untapped resource of visual memories and uncaptured creations.

But what I love most about the program is the people! This program is bringing people together. It gives us an opportunity to help one another by sharing our experiences.

Before, I would just end up doing reviews out of my own self involved motives, but after digging deeper into what reviews are really about, I started to realize it’s not about me. It’s about helping others. I now base my reviews on what others can expect, hopefully resulting in helping them learn something that they couldn’t do before hand.

This program has given me purpose; a mission.

Hello @Jusjokingjester you might have wondered what happened to the first post you wrote, as that all of a sudden disappeared, right? Well, actually, it was accidentally caught in our spam filter (which is quite strict out here). I have now released it and merged it with your other post, to avoid that your Connect account would get flagged as spammer.

The result is that the content of your first post is now added as a comment to your second post. If you want, you can remove the content of that comment by clicking the ‘…’ at the bottom of the comment and then simply removing the content there (or replace it with something like “content removed as it was an accidental duplicate”).

If you’re new to Connect, this post will probably be a good starting point.
