Why the Local Guide Program help me to develop a better photographer

When I started to work as a photographer I was a portrait photographer. I always had a big passion for photography but I was sure that I was doing the best job in the world. I would never change it.

I was doing this fantastic experience, shooting honeymoons, on a small Spanish island called Fuerteventura in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, closer to Africa than Europe.

But after a few years living on an island, I had the desire to go out and see what there was beyond the ocean.

I moved to Lisbon, a small European capital, but for me, used to live in a village surrounded by tourists and the same 50 people was like moving to New York.

New country, new city, new job.

I couldn’t find the opportunity to work as a professional portrait photographer but still want to push the click button of my camera.

The problem was that without a person who inspires my photos I didn’t know what to shoot.

Almost by accident, I decide to upload some photos of a brand new restaurant on Google Maps.

A couple of days after I received an email said that my photos made the difference.

I found the inspiration again. I was free to shoot whatever I want and those photos could be helpful for someone.

Thanks, Local Guide to help me find again the love of photography.

A nice story @zucca88
