Why Reviewing Spicy Food is Important for Me

I’ve been living in Malang, East Java, Indonesia for four years. The style of the food here is different from my home town’s. Although the type of the food is same, but it tastes different. For example: Sayur Asam (Sour Soup), based on the name Asam is sour. The soup contains corn and some other vegetables that tastes sour. But here in Malag, it tends to be sweeter. It was so frustating because of the food at first. The only savior of my life is Chili, spicy food. So even if the main dish taste ordinary or different from my expectation, the chili can make it better and increase my apetite.

Chili is the most common ingredient to add spicy flavour in Indonesia. Some Indonesian say; if there is no chili, it’s not complete yet. I think it’s the culture that makes me love chili and sambal (Indonesian chili sauce). Few years ago, spicy noodle became popular. Many youtubers make a challenges of it. In Malang, not only the spicy noodle but also spicy fried chicken. Those two are popular food and always crowded.

In line with the high demand, there are many restaurants sell both kinds of food. But not every restaurant sells real spicy food. There I started to tell people on Maps about my experiences in certain restaurants that say they are selling spicy food. I want to give honest review. I don’t want anyone disappointed because of high expectation due to advertising words.

The other reason why I share is that I think it’s important to tell people the situation and the ambience. It wil help people to preapare some money for the tax (because not every restaurant in malang charge tax). Whether it’s best to dine in or take away instead. Being helpful makes me happy. Moreover, google always send me email of my records and appreciate it. I’m thankful and feeling great because of it. It makes me keep going.
