While traveling the interior areas of most of the states of India, I found it difficult to locate a good restaurant, restrooms and mostly the direction/roads to a not famous location.
Most of the time I have to tell the driver to go left then right etc… and always have to ask locals for something.
So I felt why should not I contribute so that this problem will not be faced by others like me.
So I gradually started to contribute as a local guide and this is how my journey begins.
Mostly I started to add the roads to the new places where there is no information on a google map
@SabyasachiSamal yes, I also started for the same reason. Back in 2011, our village wasn’t on the map and literally, nothing was there. That is why I have started working on Map Maker and now contributing to Maps. Keep up the good work.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. Yeah, sometimes it is very painful to stop and ask locals for silly stuff. While working on this I have a feeling that many more things to be updated in google map.
@SabyasachiSamal As everything keeps changing offline we will have to keep updating the map. Always mention using @ so that we get notification of responses. And don’t forget to give kudos to posts and comments you like.
