I have seen that this local guides connect is extremely slow, Why Is it so?
Has it really been created and maintained by Google, or is just a community,
Because, If it is a Google Product, there is no way this would be so slow

As you can see at the bottom of every page, the Community is actually in a third party platform, (Khoros)
I agree with you that Connect sometime is slow, especially on the first load when you load all the widget and you have a lot of script running.
As the platform is continuously improving, hopefully it will be faster in the near future. The community is increased a lot from June '17, when you joined, and now we have une more million of users

@theabbie , thanks for bringing up this topic as I have so many times wanted to do exactly same. More often than not, I close the app without being able to read and interact with other local guides as I wish to. I want to suggest that Google should buy out the platform and transfer it to a reliable hosting service, a lot of us live in rural places where the network signal is always poor, and the resultant experience is that the local guide connect platform appears to be an exclusive of those who live in smart cities, whereas, there’s so much to learn reading from local guides across the world.
Once again, I suggest Google consider the interest and need of the local guides who live and contribute from remote villages where network signals are nothing to write home about.

More then Idea it’s the problem I am.facing with the app.
Very slow, app suddenly closes. Many a times I create post and then does not post at all. I have to close and re-do everything. Even with high speed internet the app response is very poor. Everything takes so much time. It was same when I used iphone even now when I am using android.

This has been slow and same till today since I joined this community. This makes difficult and tiring to browse through pages and this is why I am yet to get myself familiarize with this platform. Every time I think I will spend some time and understand how I can contribute but I end up closing the site.
