Even though I am a Level 10 Guide, I sometimes take enriched photos of the places they visit. It is published with my comment, but although it is visible to me, no one else is visible.
I am very upset when such balanced and serious environment photos are not published.
Thanks for tagging me, and sorry for the late reply, @sadikkokoz
In fact I see that 698 of your reviews and 2287 of your photos are not publicly visible.
I cannot comment in what I cannot see, so I will have to respond according to what is visible.
First of all let say that when posting a review with attached photos and videos, it is enough for a single element to be considered non-compliant for the entire post (the review and the attached media) not to be posted.
A good practice is to wait a couple of days (video verification takes a long time and you post a lot of them) and then check if the review is public.
If it is not:
Remove all media. This way we can immediately understand if the problem is in the text
If the review without media is not published within a few minutes, correct the text
If the review is published, add the media one at a time to see what is causing it
Of course, if we are sure we have not violated any rules we can appeal
And here comes the critical point. Personally I find your reviews very well done (I’ve read about ten) but I can’t say the same about the published images. I think that before publishing in Maps we should think as users, and ask ourselves if what we have published would be liked even if someone else had published it.
Do the images and videos you see show you what the place is like, or simply an event that happens there?
If the photos and videos were posted by others, would you like to find very similar images?
If the photos and videos were posted by others, would you like to see your face, or even worse, your children’s face?
If the photos and videos were posted by others, would you like to find the same image posted twice?
Personally, I don’t. Furthermore, all of the ones I mentioned above are violations of the program’s rules. Rules that we have all accepted but few have read.
They are defined as
repetitive content (similar images or videos)
Violation of people’s privacy
Duplication of images
Why am I telling you this? Because when you appeal your account is verified, and the content I mentioned above could lead to the opposite result of what you are asking for: the removal of other content.
For this reason, before sharing the form to appeal with you, I ask you to do the tests I mentioned above in your reviews, and to look at the content with the eyes of a user, rather than with those of the author. We are all in love with our images, and for me it is a huge sacrifice to give up publishing 99% of my images, but I believe it is necessary, if we really want to be of help
Thank you, @sadikkokoz
I know that one day I will return to Turkey, and that day I will inform you and many other friends that I have in your beautiful country.
From your contributions looks like you are not so far from Izmir and Manisa. I passed through Manisa when I visited Bergama, arriving from Izmir, where I worked for 18 months (I am one of the engineers who built PhilSA plant in Torbali, near Kusadasi) then I moved to Samsung.
I spent most of the weekends exploring the incredible archeological sites of the area, and I wanted to have my honeymoon in there, for my wife to enjoy your country too
I can’t tell you how happy I am. Yes, I live in Manisa. I travel all over Turkey due to my job. I know the regions you mentioned very, very well. I hope one day our paths will cross. We have a hotel in Erdek district of Balıkesir province. I would love to host you and your family there too. My Best Regards to Your Family
