I remember years ago when I went travelling to Moscow or exploring France I had to borrow or buy travel guides with maps and explore it in detail before or while travelling. But sometimes I got lost nonetheless and then I had to ask for help, either the locals or the policeman in the vicinity. Travelling is so much easier nowadays with Google maps Before going on any trip, for business or pleasure, I always check the route and try to memorise the way. When I’m not sure if I’m on the right path, I stop and check on Google Maps where to turn and how much more to go. It’s incredible, it’s almost impossible to get lost anywhere. Either in the centre of Vienna searching for a hostel or hiking the English Midlands where paths are really badly marked. Me and my friend hiked to the top of Stanage Edge with Google Maps open all the time, plus there was an extreme fog, it got better on top.
I love sharing on Google maps, posting pictures of places and reviewing small businesses in order to help someone else who’s searching the place. I also believe I’m helping the small local businesses to gain their recognition. I honestly cannot see one single minus. It’s always a win-win situation. After all we are a global village and villagers should help each other
