Why I'm a Local Guide.

I’m a local guide because I love helping local restaurants shine St Pete is a vibrant community with amazing establishments. Tourism is huge here, so I want tourists to be able to put the best spots and avoid those that are sub par!

Ali, Do you have an idea what these “levels” are? I just do reviews, but is there something I should be doing or something I’m missing out on?

That is the perfect attitude that you should have in the reasoning to be a guide. I see a lot of people online complaining about not getting the perks or gifts that others are and it’s just sad.

I enjoy the little things as much as anyone, but I’m not a Guide for freebies and even though a small business owner I don’t do it to bring attention to my business.

I’m a local guide because I love reviewing places just the same as I do with product and service reviews I create and share through my blog and social media and in various other sites. I do it because it’s fun, I get to learn a lot in the process and I get to help out others in the same boat as I was by giving my honest insights.

I want to be able to help out the business in the area I visit who are amazing and have great service and high energy and want them to be the ones people think of when visiting here or even just going out on the weekend. I equally want people to know where to avoid and while I don’t post many negative reviews, if I do I do so with solid reasoning and not just rants.

It’s fun being a Local Guide but it’s also a big responsibility. We are the first stop on the way from point A to point B for a lot of people who utilize maps on and everyday basis and it’s reviews, suggestions, pictures and the help we contribute through the program that allows them to have an enjoyable experience in our great city, county and state.

I take being a Guide seriously and I’m proud of what I’ve done so far and am always looking forward to contributing more. I wish we had more local guide meet ups in our area and I’m looking into the details about getting something going.

Just wanted to say I’m liked your post and it’s nice to see people like you out there that are leading with their hearts. Happy New Year @Alimckeev
