Magellan, Marco Polo, Amundsen, Columbus, Livingstone… All the Great Explorers have something in common: no fear for the unknown and an interest in hidden places where you can find treasures, prodigies, maybe a terra ignota, never been stepped by a human feet before. Plenty of good things to try, to let them know to other people who wait for someone else to do that exploration work for them…
This is the thing, I love to explorate. I enjoy that emotion that thrills you when you enter in a bar you don’t know and you ask for a beer… And that’s a formidable beer. And if the pinchos (little pieces of food that you can try in bars) are good and the prices are nice… You’ve made a discover! Eureka!
Now, you can try to share that information. Let it be known by your friends, maybe other people you don’t ever know… You turn yourself into a little Columbus for others, letting them be consciuos of a new place where they can have fun.
I enjoy finding new places, all kind. Even if we are talking about a simple bar with good food or a nice restaurant where you may find a great champagne at a cheap price, I love that sensation of being one of the first persons (or even the first at all!) who try that. And I like to share that information, to let other people get easier to that place (maybe letting them know what you should ask for, maybe just adding more information about its accessibility…). It’s a delightful sensation when you see, through Local Guides, that you have already helped someone, that they appreciate that information.
But even if they wouldn’t appreciate, I would continue exploring bars and restaurants. Not only because I’m happy doing that, having a laugh with my friends while we explore new places.
It’s also because I consider myself a food a wine explorer. A guy who will always try to find a new bar, a fantastic restaurant, an unknown food truck… And who will be happy thinking that someone, someday, will be happy in that exactly place I discover, enjoying the true happiness that gives you sharing food and wine with friends.
