Why I use Google Maps as an eating adventure journal and guidance?

The reviews I read and left on Google Maps are mostly about food and travel. I care about such kinds of information is because when I’m not so familiar with the place around me, the suggestions on the Maps are often helpful, and then I would have a chance to make a decision I like the most. I’m full heartily wish my review could do the same. Thus, for the places I would like to recommend, I would share my experience and up-to-date information about there, such as revising the opening time or updating the menu photos. Despite the comments on the Map are mostly short, they are rating from multiple types of users, and those honest reviews could easily offer people a quick understanding of a place. Since I believe the reviews from others could help me make a better decision, so should my reviews.

Following up, I would focus on my passion for eating reviews to discuss more. I’m from Taiwan and lived in the UK a year before. During the time I lived aboard, I’m obsessed with food reviews. For me, eating is the easiest way to immerse in different cultures, from decorations of an eatery to the local ingredients, cuisines or even the cooking recipes, so looking up the eating reviews could offer me some inspirations with local perspectives. Besides, in order to dig into the local life more, I’m also a fan of traditional markets. The Maps is then a handy assistant to support me discovering and recording my memory about local markets and food nearby, not only in the UK but also while I travelled in Italy, Netherlands and Japan. As a local guide, I would instantly note down details I care the most and share with the public. I would say Google Maps is my adventure journal and guidance in food.

In all, when it comes to a food adventure, comparing to a precise travelling plan, I prefer to use Google Maps to locate myself and make a decision that suits the current mood, after then leave my feedback for others. If readers could make their decision well, then this should be a reciprocal process. By sharing on Google Maps more, we could create an eco-friendly platform together, and that is my pleasure of being a local guide.

I feel the exact same, I hope reviewers can benefit from my food reviews as much as I benefit from theirs!

Hi! Thanks for your reply. It’s nice to know someone feels the same here.
