Why I Take the Time to Write Reviews and Rate

Probably one of my favorite yearly activities is planning my big yearly trip. This is a tradition that has developed organically over time and pretty much keeps me sane. Knowing that I have a trip to look forward to makes a huge difference and I love the planning, countdown, and research process! Over the years my trip preferences and company have changed. From spring break trips with friends in my 20’s to couple retreats with my partner in crime in our 30’s. My husband and I were married October of 2017. Luckily, he has the same passion as I do to explore and travel. So my big yearly trip has now become our big yearly anniversary trip. So, when that anticipated time comes and we need decide where we will be heading for our adventure, what is the first thing I do? GOOGLE EVERYTHING. I google cities, landmarks, restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions, and the not so tourist attractions. As I’m conducting my research,I inevitably scan through hundreds if not thousands of google reviews to determine which locations fit our personalities and the overall mood of the trip we plan to take. You can ask my husband, I’ve literally made itineraries for our vacations hopelessly trying to packing in seven days worth of stuff into five days. We end up completing about 70% and always have a blast! When I was prompted to join local guides and provide feedback and ratings, I decided to truly try to commit and provide honest feedback because I had relied on similar feedback so many times. Now, it’s become kind of a travel hobby to sit and review our travel places while sitting at a restaurant or after our trip posting pictures of the places we took along the way. I hope that my posts have helped others plan their trips and I like to think that in some small way, I have contributed to someone’s happiness and wanderlust!
