Having always loved travelling with my family, sharing my experiences using Google is a logical (and fun) way to help others make the most of their adventures, wherever they are in the world.
From sharing my favourite places to some of my not so favourite places, I help others make informed decisions when they are choosing where to stay, shop, eat or play. We all know the feeling when we arrive on holiday or at a restaurant, think “why did I not read the Google reviews for this place?” and regret it for the duration of your stay! I want others to avoid the mistakes that I have made over my years of travelling so they can have the best adventure possible.
Some of the most incredible places that I have visited have been the ones that were not previously shared online. These are the best to share because it helps others find the rich, cultural hidden gems that are sometimes overlooked by tourists.Another reason I enjoy leaving reviews is the fact that my daughter can only eat gluten free food, which can be daunting and very difficult in unfamiliar places. Though it is becoming gradually easier for people with dietary requirements, before Google, it was next to impossible at times! I am passionate about food as it is one of my favourite ways to embrace and experience a different culture to my own. By using Google Maps to review restaurants and eateries, I hope that I can make a difference to those (gluten free or not) searching for the perfect meal.
I am very proud to be a Local Guide and really enjoy being a part of Google’s ever-growing community. I would love to know what inspires and motivates you to be a local guide - let me know in the comments so we can all get to know one another!
