Why I peep in Public Toilets?

I have been contributing to Google maps since last 2 years by writing heart felt reviews, uploading photos, adding places, editing places etc in order to make Google maps more accurate and informative.

This year in accordance with the Prime Ministers “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” (SBA) my cause has been to add maximum toilets on Google maps by personally visiting each one of them, writing their reviews, giving ratings and uploading photos so that people can get access to clean, well maintained facilities.

Open defecation has been an endemic sanitary problem in India since years. In the year 2014 India was the country with the highest number of people practicing open defecation, around 530 million people.

Once I spot a toilet, I run like a PUBG player to get the maximum loot (to click photos, add reviews, check cleanliness, check latches on the doors, number of urinals, latrines, wash basins, soap etc).

I have visited more than 70 toilets in cities like Chandigarh, Kolkata and New Delhi. There were many challenges but I’m glad it all went well. My passion took me all the way from Kolkata to Delhi about 1500 km to visit a unique museum, the first of it’s kind “The Museum of Toilets”. I enjoyed my visit which was quite enlightening and enriching experience.

My #LooReviews and photos should educate them about toilets nearby so that Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) achieves its aim of Open Defecation Free India by 2nd October 2019, the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatama Gandhi.

Thank you Google Maps for empowering me this opportunity to contribute to the cause I care about and bringing a change in our world.

Hello @Harpal ,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and those photos, honestly I wasn’t aware of the existence of such a museum!

As a fan of non typical things, for me, this Toilet museum is so unique and original! It reminded me a bit the Donkey museum in Bulgaria.
