Why I love to show the power of Google Maps to the others

I want to tell you this little nice story about my last travel in Thailand. I was walking back to my bungalow when I saw the banner of noodle stall with the writings “noodle soup for 20 bath”. The hunger was not bad so I decided to stop there and try the soup. My aspectation was very low beacuse of the price.

In a fiew minutes I recieved a very little bowl of soup but with a great flavour. Suddendly I looked for the stall on Maps to give it my positive response and I’ve been surprised to not found it. So I asked informations about it to the owner but language was a problem(my thai is very limited).

Few minutes later a young girl contacted me saying she was the owner’s syster. She also expleined to me she was not able to add her businness on Google maps and she finally asked to help them to do it.
Of course I answered I was proud and happy to help them sa I did the procedure to add a new place on “Maps” and I teached her how to do it. I also informed them they have to wait for few days to see the update and to can add new photos or reviews.

Well, I recieved the mail of the confirmation after one week from Google Maps system and, of course, the mine was the first five stars review of the the place.

Right now I afraid to see my review is the only one present but I’m sure the next time a traveller will pass front of them and will stop for a nice meal because of my review I’ll know to have done a good job.

I have to tell you I started to travel twenty years ago(I’m 47) with heavy paper books guides and everytime I discovered a new interesting place where to eat or to sleep I was afreid to not advise the comunity of traveller about this. It was a sin but contact the guide’s printers was quite complicated.
Now Google Maps technology and of course smarthphones has completely changed my travelling style.

Good luck to Rangsit boat Noodle.
