Why I love to share restaurant tips

Hello all, my name is Bruno. I am a food lover. I loooove to eat. Usually, a lot. Having grown up in a family with no love to frozen foods, or sausages or frozen hamburguers, I was always really picky. Do not get me wrong, I eat everything. But… I am really demanding in what concerns food and service.

So, after starting traveling as a journalist, I started checking out a lot of reviews… first on other platforms but I always ended up in Google Reviews. I always wanted to check the pictures taken by customers and the reviews. After that, specially after a really bad experience in Venice, where I went to show the Carnival, I started taking my own pictures and reviewing the places I went.

I realize that being a Local Guide, made me the center of my group of friends and the referent for going out to eat, as well as improving also the local restaurants. After bad reviews, most of them wrote me in order to see what was wrong. Also, gave me the possibility to show amazing places that were unknown to the public. Here is an example of a small family owned restaurant in the middle of a summer town in Uruguay. The owners did not have any usage of the Internet what so ever. So after going there a lot, I told them they should put themselves in Google Maps. I made an excellent review, it got more than 5000 views. For a town with 250 inhabitants, that is pretty decent!

I am from Uruguay and Europe is one of the most liked destinations to fly to. Specially Spain, where people can speak the same language, and enjoy summer in the cold South America season.

After being able to go a lot to Mallorca, I managed to do a list with my favourite restaurants, that I always share with my friends and people that I do not know, but that they are travelling.

A lot of my friends told me I should be a food critic… In a way with Local Guides… I am already!

Thank you for reading,

Cheers,

Bruno
