Normally I like to use Google Maps tools depending on the situation that I am in, I will make more use of some more than the others.
For example, on some occasions, I am looking for some small Local business in my community and when I searching on Google Maps I can not find it, which gives us the opportunity to add the location, general information about the place, I am very pleased to collaborate with such thing, there is nothing more tedious than finding a way to communicate or reach a place and not knowing how to do it, I am pleased to know that in the future this information added by me, will be useful for future visitors.
Google Maps and Local Guides, has been my travel companion for more than 2 years and in different places and circumstances.
During my adventures in other countries, which I remember with a smile on my face thanks to Google Maps save time when I arrived at my destination, on this trip I found more features that surprised me and I am very excited to explore.
On my first visit to Europe I made an 11-hour train journey from Frankfurt to Gothenburg, this trip included several stops and changes of trains in different cities through Denmark to Sweden, having Google Maps and being able to calculate the time of arrival, information of restaurants, taxis, and other useful information, I was very chill, also comments from other Local Guides were very helpful.
It was also my time to provide some information in every place I visited, anything could be, leave a comment, answer questions or add a photo.
In other places like France it was useful to find train schedules, or buses and costs, see the opinions of other travelers that was useful to choose services that should take.
I must also say that of what I love the most, I look for or contribute in Google, they are trails in forests and waterfalls, something very common in my country Costa Rica, one of my favorite activities is hiking, therefore whenever I can, I go in search of this.
At the end of December 2017 while visiting my sister in a small town nerby the border of Panama and Costa Rica, I decided to venture and cross the border with Panama, after passing immigration control I was on my way to Playa Lajas, arriving at the station buses in David City, somebody told me it was too late to get to that beach at that time I had to change my plans spontaneously, the first thing I did was go to Google to investigate about what other place was nearby and worth going, I found on the map Boquete, a small cool weather and coffee town where the Baru volcano is located.
This place became my favorite place, I never imagined that such a place has caused such experiences, coffee afternoons, walks on the riverside or look outs, its hostels, where I met a girl who climbed to the top of the volcano with me,then would be my girlfriend.
Finally I must say that I am excited to continue contributing in the great Google Maps community, now I am working and saving money to achieve a goal and dream of studying for a year in Germany and then doing a bike tour through some Eastern countries, such as Czech Republic, Poland, Croatia and others.
I hope to contribute in some way to all users of Googe Maps and Local Guides.
