I’ve been contributing to Google Maps for several years in my local area in Washington State, but in the last year I also finally had the opportunity to travel outside of the US in Latin America. Google Maps not only helped me to navigate while traveling, but correctly label my travel photos of places I might never get to go to again and few other people with a camera might have ever been, as well as some very famous places where many have gone before me. Sharing on Google Maps also gives me an excuse to photograph things that most tourists might pass by, which sometimes turn out to be some of the best photos of the journey. These is a few of my favorite photos from the past year of traveling just from Mexico City- picking out favorites from all of my photos from just the past year was too much. I don’t even like cities but I loved Mexico City- and maybe you and others who see my photos will too, and come away with a different impression of our southern neighbors than Trump and most media like to project.
