As a Local Guide, I love to add 360 photos to Google Maps because it helps to bring a lot of exposure to businesses. 360 photos have been very handy when it comes to showcasing the interior and exterior parts of a business place because I can capture a wide-angle view of these places without having to take many still shots of photos. I can also explore these photos in VR which is very amazing.
I also discovered people love to interact with 360 photos to make an informed decision about a location on Google Maps and recent times it has been a go-to guide for millions of people who search on maps.
My favorite places of sharing 360 photos are parks, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, offices and iconic places. I also love to host 360 Photowalk themed meet-ups where I bring Local Guides together in my community to encourage them to share 360 photos to Google Maps. During these meet-ups, I also share my experience with them on how they can take 360 photos with their mobile phones or a 360 camera and also introduce them to the Google Street View Trusted Photographer program where they can earn the trusted badge after publishing about 50 approved 360 photos.
I have been able to add over 1,300+ 360 photos which have over 10million views on Google Street View and this brings me great delight to see people are actually looking at these photos to make informed decisions. I plan on embarking on future projects where I will take 360 photos to rural areas, popular tourist destinations that are unmapped and advocate more on the benefits of 360 photos in my community. I look forward to connecting with other passionate local guides like me at Connect live 2019 in San Jose where I can also share my passionate experience on the Local Guides program and also about taking 360 photos.
Cheers
