Hello everybody,
This is my first post here. First of all I have been a local guide for a long time now. Usually even though I would like to travel with my friends I usually travel alone. Thanks to google I never feel lonely!
I love spontaneous adventures so I usually don’t plan everything and once I am at my destination i just check Google maps and go with the flow!
I must tell a story of one of the best moments of my life and this is thanks to local community because someone posted this tour on Google maps and I gave it a try .
So, I was in Thailand and had a boat tour with 10 other people. At some point we were seeing all those small islands and our guide seperated everybody to go into these islands with canoe for only two people.
So, while everybody is seeing the same islands my guide told me one thing: SECRET! He yelled at me because I didn’t speak Thai and he didn’t speak English this was one of the few words he actually told me… A secret! Now he took me away from the other groups and we went into a cave with canoe.
After one minute of cave travel we were inside the island. Imagine all around are covered with big tall walls. And outside it was raining cats and dogs .Inside was priproba like 30 meter and in 4 corners you could see some kind of big stones that actually looks like animals. One corner there was a monkey, one corner there was a dopldol, an elephant and a lion.
These stones is so real and it is so obivoobvi looking like the animals but you can be sure that it is natural by the look of it.
Now I was already so mesmerized by these stones I forgot to look around myself. And when I actually released what this secret place all about…
I moved my head to sky and there it was. Sun light coming from the top of the cave and the rain drops. The thing is it was raining like crazy outside of this mini island but inside, inside the raindrops were like feathers. They would not drop they would just linger on air like feathers. That is when I actually noticed why this place was “SECRET” Because it was unbelievable. I still cannot believe that moment actually. It was as if you could see magic with your own eyes and it felt so at peace.
After all I never got to learn the name of this secret place. But I had this experience because on Google maps I read some reviews and decided to join this trip. Even though it was a year ago I still see this magnificent place in my dreams now and then.
All I can say is to thank to the community and everybody that puts their heart into it because it is what make things more beautiful.
