Hello, my name is Amalia, a girl from Borneo. I use Google Maps as my travel companion. I started in 2014. I just bought an Android smartphone and started installing Google Maps. One day there was a local guide, I also received advice from a local guide. At first, I didn’t know what the Local Guide was but I felt happy, it was like a game. Give a star, give a review and upload photos of each place visited will get points. Since that day I have used Google Maps for my trip, and helped people provide information about the places I visited. This makes me want to continue to explore, visit new places, take photos and provide reviews and contribute. It feels amazing if there are people who can be helped by the reviews I wrote, see the photos I uploaded as a reference. From the reviews, I have reviewed it on Google Maps, which I mostly review hotels, local businesses, and public facilities, as well as services from somewhere. I like photographing rooms, public facilities, and architectural and aesthetic photographic techniques, with the right composition of photos, but using only smartphones, can easily find out information from photos.
Another experience of me being lost in a city when using Google Maps because of lack of information when I was on vacation in Yogyakarta, I wanted to go somewhere with the help of Google Maps, and it turned out that when I turned the map, I turned on the road, past the rat road, until I finally gave up and asked the local people, I finally arrived at the destination with the help of local residents directly. Now the Local function is the same as the local people who tell you about information in their area. From there I learned from mistakes, I want other people not to get lost as experienced, I want to help others not to get lost. I want to help each place become easier to know and a beautiful place to be awesome with Google Maps.
