Why I love sharing photos on Google Maps

When I joined Local Guides almost four years ago, I was attracted by the opportunity to help others decide. I liked the ability to share photos, which allowed me to convey the experience itself, firsthand. It is nothing to enter a description of a restaurant or a museum. To really see the place give your viewer a better idea of what to expect.

I love taking photos of landscapes, particularly architecture. I love the angles, views, the sunlight, and t

he overall expressiveness of even the most ordinary buildings. Every one of them has a designer with a particular purpose and audience in mind, and I love the way the building “shows” you what it is as you walk into it.

This last year or so has seen a particular interest in parks, hikes and city walks. These are good because you can visit these places for free. I think a lot is

added to experience by simple attention, and attention can be paid even to free events. Nothing defines an experience like the surroundings, and particularly the first impression. It opens the gateway which unfolds layer by layer as you hike, peruse museum exhibits, dine, or shop a historical district.

I hope my photos capture a complete experience of the present moment, and inspire viewers to learn more.
