Why I love sharing on Google map? What drives me as a local guide?

From the beginning of my childhood, I was very fond of map. I remember when I was a kid, my father brought a book of maps in our home. My father was a school teacher. He always wanted to teach about the new things. So when my father showed me the colourful maps in that map book, I was literally surprised and honestly, this was my first exposure to map. I loved the colour, I loved the different colours of river, forest, lakes located in the map. I then learnt how to read a map, which side is the North, which is the East, how the ocean looks like. It is a very happy childhood when every child is learning something new. When I went to school for my academy, I learn to draw map- specially my country map. My sister taught me how to draw this map… and this was just the beginning. After many years due to the digitalization of everything map has also become digital. Google serves a wonderful environment for the people who likes map. I cannot remember how many years ago I was first started using Google Map- maybe It was 6 years ago, maybe 10 years ago - who knows? But when I found a good description in European and American geographic location but when I found no such inputs in my Bangladesh map I felt depressed. First thought- why our map is so poor? Then I realized as like Rome was not built in a day any map in any country is not built in a day too. Local people contributed to add information in America and Canada and developed countries map rich. So people like me who lives in Bangladesh have to contribute to make our own map content rich. These thoughts drive me to the local guide. I felt very good when I add a missing road or place in my area, when I add a photo of a local tourist place, when I post review about a local Store or local hotel or local airport I find that this is helping other people to decide about this places. By this way I thought that serving to humanity may have different ways and I, from my point of view can serve the humanity through improving my local map. I found that after a year or more my posts in Google Map is recognized and reviewed by people- thousands of previews of my posts, thousands of likes of my comments regarding places and information I added. This recognition makes me feel proud as a local guide. Now when I see that our country map is not as bad as it was 10 years back, it is comparable to somewhere in the developed countries nowadays, I feel proud, I feel happy.

So people like me are contributing much to improve this map and now I can say proudly that our local map is comparable with other developed countries local map. so I am requesting my country people who are using Google map for their day to day activities, please contribute and add contents into the Google Map; that will help other people and ultimately that will make you happy as you are serving the humanity!
