Why I love sharing information

You know when you’re planning to eat out with your friend or you need to buy one more item from your shopping list before the day is over but you don’t have much time to explore around? That’s when precise information comes in hand! When you have the right app with accurate data you can make your appointments fit on your timetable or buy what you want when you’re in a hurry. That’s why as a Local Guide I love sharing helpful information on Google Maps. Here’s a feel examples of how I’ve contributed:

Bibila Mercantil: This was the very first business I added to Google Maps - my dad’s grocery store. Something around 10 years ago I added my dad’s business to make sure we were ahead of the competition. Although it’s placed in a really small town and I don’t live there anymore I still make sure to keep information right. All theses years being active on Maps has made the task of adding and updating other business information easy.

Ronald’s Lanches: After adding the business hours to Google Maps I still had the feeling that something about this place was missing. Only after paying the bill did I realize the most important aspect of the business: the item prices. I immediately took pictures of the menu and uploaded them. Up to today these pics sum up 4,500+ views.

Centro de Saúde da Família Antônio Pádua de Melo: I started a health procedure with a friend who works there. The first time getting to this place wasn’t that easy - it wasn’t on Google Maps at all. I made sure to add the place, knowing that I’d use the location to go back there a couple other times and helping the whole neighborhood with business hours and phone number.

Whenever I visit a place that I think it would benefit from being on Google Maps or a place that I’m sure it’s already on the app and I’ll visit it again I like to double check the business information. So I’d ask an employee about the business hours, open days, phone number, etc. and add everything to Google Maps or update existent information to make sure I can check it later; likewise other users can find this helpful information. It’s always a pleasure to see how grateful the staff gets when they see someone helping their business and when I’m with my friends they’re always impressed with my attitude. Although I feel I’m helping my community just a little, all these little acts add up to a big impact I make as a Local Guide.
