First of all, I knew local guides since 2015. I can say it has been improving a lot since that day especially the features for local guides to spread the information. I regularly use the local guide to know about the place before I go there, to know the situation and things that I can do there. Thus, I gain much information and I need to pay back by being a good local guide too!
My contribution mostly by uploading pictures because I personally think that is the best way to give information about the places without words. Besides I found some interesting place by the help from google maps, here is the example!
At that time, I went to Bandung for attending my colleagues’ competition at Universitas Parahyangan which located in Ciumbuleuit area, we went to hotel that had been paid by our school, however it such a scary and horrible hotel, and no one of us wanted to stay there. Then I started typed “apartment near me” in google maps, and Thanks God we found it at first shot only! So amazing! The apartment name was Parahyangan Residence (I’ve reviewed it via Local Guide). I really love how local guiders gave reviews in Google Maps. In emergency it’s tremendously helpful! and trustful obviously.
After the competition, I had one day off and I’m typical of person who love to go to recreational place. That I also typed “park near me” in Google maps and leaded me to, the cutest forest in Indonesia which was Orchid Forest Cikole. It took an hour to go there from Ciumbuleuit. I wasn’t expect that place will be my favorite because for me “forest” just only some trees and fresh air. But, I was wrong. As I observe, the tourism places in Bandung, most of them provide a very good selfie background or Indonesian called it (wisata selfie).
When I arrived, I needed to pay the entrance tickets for Rp. 35.000 ($2.5) per person. At first I just think it was a bit expensive because in Bali the entrance tickets in Bedugul (Bali Kebun Raya) only cost around Rp. 12.000 ($1), then I turned out it a different type of forests.
Then, the thing you need to do after entering the Cikole forest was that parked your vehicle. Then you will enter the real forest it self. When I came in, it offered many different selfie background, I was a bit shock as I said I didn’t think it will be a selfie world. There was some background that I used to take some selfies LOL, I’ll share it here (p.s. Maybe it has real name, but I’ll name it base on what I think it should)
- Triangles background
It consists of some black triangles, but who doesn’t love shapes? many I guess including my boyfriend, He said it was not a good background, but I think it is, you guys decide!
- Flying Umbrellas
Unique, but many places has it. Especially in Bali you can easily find this flying umbrellas, like A LOT of places, so I personally didn’t really want to take a picture there, because it was so crowded but I maintained to edit to remove those person, thanks to photo editor LOL
- Flying Snowballs
I love this. but it was hard to have a good picture, I don’t know how was the right angle to take photo here. so yup I just took not many 
- Rope Bridge
This is the most favorite background I guess, especially for love-birds, including me of course. But, if you want to take a picture here you need to PAY again, for Rp. 20.000 or 25.000, not only for selfie but you also will ride a flying for, and It is all completely safe! if you don’t want to, don’t worry you can take a walk
- Yellow Flowers
There are many gardens there and consist of many types of flower, and I decided to take a picture in front of this yellow one.
- Triangle Woods
The triangle woods. You can sit on top and be the king of triangle kingdom LOL!. There is so much love there (I mean the love lamps)
